Kanenori was founded in Niigata, Japan, in 1943. They started their business as a polishing company but expanded into manufacturing just a few years later. Now they're one of the most trusted Japanese brands for gardening tools, specializing in hedge shears, hatchets, and pruning shears.
Kanenori uses yasugi high-carbon steel for their blades to ensure their products are super sharp and wear-resistant. They typically press or die-cut their steel and then quench and temper to harden the blade. Grinding, sharpening, polishing, and assembly are all done by hand by expert craftsmen.
