Hose picks and gasket scrapers are among the most important tools when repairing or rebuilding an engine. Old radiator and heater hoses begin to degrade, and fuse to the pipes and outlets they connect to. A simple hose pick is often the perfect tool for breaking this seal, allowing you to easily remove and replace or repair damages hoses in your engine.
Gasket scrapers serve a different, but similar purpose. Gaskets also degrade and adhere to engine blocks, and the adhesives that they're originally stuck down with turn into messy, sticky, gunky problems that you have to deal with when you're repairing a head gasket. Japanese gasket scrapers are made from very sharp, very strong steel and will cut through that mess in no time at all.
