Tone was founded in the 1930s in Osaka, Japan, and spent most of their early years operating and manufacturing locally out of Osaka and Amagasaki (where Daitool is based). They exhibited their tools at the first Japanese Automobile Show in 1954, and were one of the early-adopters of the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) certification.
