This Shapton Pro Kuromaku Whetstone is a professional-grade sharpening stone designed to restore and repair dull or damaged blades with strong cutting power and reliable durability.
At #120 grit, this is a coarse, extra-aggressive whetstone ideal for restoring chipped or dull blades and for reshaping edges quickly. Its coarse grit clears metal efficiently, making it particularly useful when you need to re-profile a knife or revive a blade that has lost its edge. Because it removes material rapidly, you’ll restore sharpness even on hard steels or knives whose geometry has degraded.
Made from high-hardness ceramic, this whetstone resists wear and maintains a consistent abrasive surface even under heavy use. The plastic storage case doubles as a stable sharpening base, so you can secure the stone firmly while working — which helps keep your sharpening angle consistent and blade movement stable. As a result, the K0701 delivers reliable, controlled sharpening that supports both everyday kitchen knives and more demanding steel.
- 120 grit extra-coarse ceramic stone for aggressive sharpening and edge repair
- Consistent and durable ceramic surface that wears slowly and maintains abrasive power
- Splash & Go design: ready to use with minimal water
- Plastic storage box doubles as sharpening base for stable, safe sharpening
Before first use, moisten the surface with a splash of water. Use a stable, flat surface or the included base when sharpening. While sharpening, sprinkle the surface with a little more water as-needed. After sharpening, rinse the blade and the stone under clean water. Allow the stone to air-dry completely in shade, avoid drying near direct heat to prevent warping or cracking. Do not sharpen ceramic or cemented-carbide knives with this whetstone.
