The wooden handle is easy to hold, and attaches securely to the head with a horizontal wedge. You can be confident that the head will stay attached to the handle, even during tough working conditions.

The carbon steel head has a flat striking face, as well as a convex (domed) striking face. You can use the flat side on a chisel or a plane without damaging your tools. Flip it around to the convex side when you want more concentrated striking force.
