These shears have a single bypass blade, one of the most common styles of pruning shear, but with a twist. While typical bypass pruners have a short, stubby blade, these shears have an extra-long blade. The longer cutting surface makes them extremely efficient, especially when used one-handed as they're intended.
They're fantastic for shaping trees and hedges, cutting through leaves and twigs, and even some branches. The bypass blade design means you're pressing the target branch against a hard surface when you cut - similar to using a cutting board.
