This Gyokucho Razorsaw A is a Japanese pull saw, which cuts with a pulling motion, as is typical of Japanese saws. Dozuki style saws are Japanese backsaws, and they're generally used for joinery and precision work.
The blade has been impulse-hardened and treated with nickel. This process makes the surface of the blade ultra-hard, while the inside retains its flexibility - the result is a long-lasting blade with excellent rust resistance.
This saw's rattan handle is very comfortable to hold, even when doing bigger jobs and the blade is replaceable, with special Hijirime teeth designed to improve cut quality and reduce sawdust.
